The input is removed after processing. Download access ends within 30 minutes.

How to Convert PDF to Word Online

  1. Choose your PDF. Select one text-based PDF up to 25 MB.
  2. Start the conversion. We validate the file, extract selectable text, and create the Word document.
  3. Download the DOCX. Review the result in Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, or another compatible editor.

What to Expect from Conversion

Editable text

Selectable text from supported PDFs is placed into an editable DOCX document.

Page breaks

Each PDF page is separated in the Word document to make review and editing easier.

Approximate line layout

Line order and spacing are approximated. The result is intended for editing, not exact visual reproduction.

Supported PDFs and Current Limits

The current text-only release converts one text-based PDF at a time to DOCX, with a limit of 25 MB and 200 pages. Images, tables, columns, and complex formatting may not be preserved. OCR for scanned PDFs, password-protected PDFs, and batch conversion are not available.

File Privacy and Security

Uploads use randomized job identifiers and private temporary storage. The source PDF is removed after processing. Download access ends no later than 30 minutes after the Word file is ready, and the cleanup service verifies physical deletion. New uploads stop if the cleanup/queue heartbeat becomes stale.

PDF to Word FAQ

Is this PDF to Word converter free?

Yes. The current single-file converter does not require registration or payment.

What output format will I receive?

The converter creates a Microsoft Word DOCX file.

Will images, tables, columns, and formatting be preserved?

Not reliably in the current text-only mode. It keeps editable text, page breaks, and an approximate line layout, but images, tables, columns, and complex formatting may be omitted or rearranged.

Can it convert scanned PDFs?

No. Scanned PDFs require OCR, and OCR is disabled in the current release.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

No. Password-protected PDF conversion is disabled in the current release.

When are my files deleted?

The input is removed after processing. Download access to a ready Word file ends within 30 minutes; the cleanup service then removes the file and records a warning if deletion cannot be verified.

Tested with 24 controlled PDFs

In our recorded English test, 22 of 24 files produced a downloadable DOCX and all 22 returned files passed the DOCX package check. Text retention was high, but tables, images, columns, and other complex layouts often required substantial repair. The two image-only scans failed because the current converter does not provide OCR.
