Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PDF-to-Word.tools handles information when you use the PDF-to-Word converter. It is written to match the service that is currently available.

Effective date and last update: August 11, 2026.

1. Uploaded documents

The service accepts one text-based PDF per conversion, up to 25 MB and 200 pages. Your document is used only to perform the conversion you request.

  • The source PDF is removed after processing.
  • The generated DOCX remains available for download for no longer than 30 minutes.
  • After download access expires, the cleanup service removes the generated file and verifies physical deletion.
  • Failed and cancelled jobs follow the same verified-deletion process.

2. How files are protected

Uploads use HTTPS. Each conversion receives a randomized job identifier and a separate access token; the service stores only a hash of that token. Temporary files are kept in private application storage outside the public web directory. Conversion-status and download responses are marked private and no-store.

3. Accounts and information you provide

No account is required for conversion, and the converter does not ask for your name or email address. If you contact us, we process the information you choose to include in your message so we can reply. Do not attach sensitive documents to support or security messages.

4. Technical and security logs

The website and its hosting infrastructure may process routine technical data such as IP address, browser or user-agent information, timestamps, request status, and security events. This information is used to operate the service, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and protect the website. It is separate from the contents of uploaded documents.

5. Cookies and measurement

The public converter does not require an account cookie. Essential cookies may be used where needed for site functionality or administration. Basic performance measurements may be collected to diagnose reliability; we do not use uploaded document contents for advertising or AI training.

6. Service providers and disclosure

We do not sell or rent uploaded documents or personal information. Hosting, network, and security providers may process limited technical data as necessary to operate and protect the service. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or to investigate abuse or security incidents.

7. Backups and sensitive documents

Temporary application storage is configured outside the public website directory. Hosting-level snapshots and backup scope are handled separately, so we do not claim that every infrastructure layer is backup-free or completely anonymous. Avoid uploading highly sensitive documents unless this processing model meets your requirements.

8. Your choices and rights

You can stop a conversion, avoid uploading a document, or contact us about a privacy request. Applicable privacy rights depend on your location and the information involved. We may need enough information to verify and respond to a request.

9. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly request personal information from children.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The updated date will appear at the top of this page. For privacy questions, use the Contact page. For implementation details, see the Security page.
