About Us

PDF-to-Word.tools provides a focused, browser-accessible converter for turning selectable PDF text into an editable Microsoft Word DOCX file. We also publish practical guides and first-party tests that explain what the converter can and cannot do.

What the converter does

  • Converts one text-based PDF at a time, up to 25 MB and 200 pages.
  • Creates an editable DOCX with PDF page breaks and approximate line layout.
  • Works without registration or a software installation.

The current release is text-first. Images, tables, columns, and complex formatting may be omitted or rearranged. OCR for image-only scans, password-protected PDFs, and batch conversion are not available. Check the current feature list before uploading a document.

Who maintains the content

Content is maintained under the site-level byline PDF-to-Word.tools Editorial Team. This byline identifies the publishing team responsible for the website; it is not the name of an individual expert. We do not assign personal credentials, job titles, or biographies unless they can be verified and published accurately.

How we verify product claims

Product pages are written to match the live converter rather than planned features. We distinguish a successful conversion job from document quality: a downloadable DOCX may still need review or repair.

  • Current limits and feature availability are checked against the live product.
  • First-party tests disclose their date, corpus, method, metrics, limitations, and downloadable evidence.
  • Claims about Microsoft Word, browsers, operating systems, security, or law are linked to relevant primary or official sources when available.
  • Planned capabilities are not described as available.

Our 24-file English conversion-quality test publishes the source files, returned outputs, results, source-versus-structure comparison graphics, and methodology used for its recorded run. It is a controlled sample, not a guarantee for every PDF.

Editorial and update policy

Guides are reviewed when the product changes, a material source changes, or testing identifies a meaningful correction. Pages show a review or update date where that context helps readers. Product changes are recorded in the Changelog only after they have been implemented and checked.

Corrections

If you find a factual error, send the page URL, the statement you believe is incorrect, and any supporting source through the Contact page. We review correction reports and update material errors when the available evidence supports a change. Do not attach a sensitive PDF or DOCX to a correction message.

File handling

Files are transferred over HTTPS to private temporary storage. The source PDF is removed after processing. Download access to a completed DOCX ends within 30 minutes, after which the cleanup process removes the generated file. Read the Security page and Privacy Policy for the complete operational description.
